What is what3words?

what3words is a location-addressing system that divides the world's surface into 3 metre Ă— 3 metre squares. Each square has a unique address made from three words, separated by dots, such as ///filled.count.soap.

Instead of sharing a long set of GPS coordinates, you can use a three-word address to identify a small area. In geocaching, three-word addresses can also appear as clues in mystery and multi-stage caches.

How to use this tool: Enter a three-word address to get latitude and longitude, or enter GPS coordinates to find the corresponding three-word address. Double-check the location before navigating in the field.
