Columnar Transposition Cipher

Rearrange characters using a keyword and read columns in alphabetic order. This tool supports standard complete and incomplete rectangular columns.

How to solve

Write the message into rows under the keyword. Sort columns by keyword letter, breaking repeated letters from left to right. For encryption, read each sorted column downward. Decryption fills sorted columns and reads across rows.

Spaces and punctuation are removed because columnar grids usually contain letters only. X padding, if selected, may remain at the end after decoding; remove it only if you know it was padding.
