Maya Numerals

Dots, bars and a shell for zero: a full 0–19 reference and decimal-to-base-20 calculator.

Three symbols: a dot = 1, a bar = 5, and a shell-shaped sign = 0. These are drawn below as clean schematic versions. Four dots plus three bars make 19.

How place values work: Write digits vertically, with ones at the bottom, twenties above, four hundreds above that, then eight thousands. For instance, 20 is one dot in the second level and a zero shell below it. Calendar exception: Maya Long Count dates use 360 instead of 400 for their third place; this calculator uses ordinary base-20 arithmetic.
