How the numerals work

Kaktovik numerals are a visual set of 20 digits (0–19). The lower strokes contribute 1–4 and marks at the top contribute groups of five (5, 10, 15). The SVG diagrams render even where a device lacks the Unicode font. Larger numbers use base-20 place value (20 is written as 1 followed by 0).
